Wasteland 2 to Release this Week

Wasteland 2 to Release this Week

Revealed over Twitter back in mid-August, the long-awaited sequel to the post-apocalyptic RPG Wasteland was given an official release date of Friday, September 19, which is now only days away.

Wasteland 2 has been available since December 2013 via Steam’s Early Access program, and the accumulated feedback the game has received since then has prompted its developer, inXile Entertainment, to release the game this week, at the time of writing.

Wasteland 2’s introduction to Steam’s Early Access helped double the game’s development budget accumulated from its Kickstarter campaign helped. The campaign itself raised $2,933,252 with a total of 61,290 backers, well surpassing its initial goal of $900,000; one can now estimate that the total budget behind Wasteland 2 is somewhere around $6 million.

According to RealGamerReviews, the release version of Wasteland 2 is reported to have more content, more details and better visuals, better instructions, an introductory movie and more. The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game is currently available on Steam for £44.99, or your regional equivalent.
