Wii Due to Get Royal Treatment with Four Stellar Titles from Japanese Studios

None

Today four titles, one of which is unconfirmed, were announced for the Nintendo Wii. The titles include Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, Rune Factory Frontier, Tenchu 4, and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. Here’s a bit of information for each upcoming title:

Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 will provide players with quality fighting game mechanics and a fast-paced gameplay experience on Wii. Set after Sasuke leaves the Leaf Village to gain more power from Orochimaru, the title offers a slew of playable characters, including those developed especially for the storyline. Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 features destructible stages and four-player multiplayer battles, along with gameplay modes and characters not yet seen on the Clash of Ninja series.

Rune Factory Frontier has seen two releases on to DS, but will take advantage of the Wii’s greatly expanded specs. According to IGN’s John Tanaka, you will play as Laguna, “who’s starting life in a completely new land. Your goal is to build up your village in classic Harvest Moon style (Rune Factory is an offshoot of that series), attracting new residents, and eventually earning the affections of some possible marriage targets.”

Tenchu 4 will make the move to Wii as an exclusive. According to Famitsu, the game is being published by From Software and developed by Acquire. Acquire is the developer of the original Tenchu, which we all know was the best entry by far. Of course, Tenchu 4 will take full advantage of the Wii Remote’s capabilities.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is actually not officially confirmed. However, the news has been leaked to various manga distributors. Badger Comics was given this little tidbit they filed under “key selling points” that set the video gaming rumors ablaze: “Cross-promoted with the 2008 video game releases, which include games for the Nintendo Wii and DS (Fall 2008).” Look for this to become official at next month’s E3.
