Wii U More Powerful Than E3 Advertised

None

Even with the Wii U being officially unveiled at E3, rumors about it are still flying around. E3 showed us a console that wasn’t significantly more powerful than the PS3 or Xbox 360. In fact, the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online demo shown at the Nintendo booth ran at a depressingly low frame rate. However, recent reports say the Wii U is not only more powerful than it was shown to be at E3, but more powerful than it was rumored to be previous to E3. Who do we believe?

Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia recently said “Some of the developers we spoke to indicated to us that the console will have 50% more processing power compared to the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. This is yet to be confirmed by Nintendo.” That significantly higher than reports we heard pre-E3 when the console was still codenamed Project Café. While this is rumor, keep in mind this isn’t a random guess. This is an industry analyst relaying information to the media about developers he has spoken to directly.

Either way, we can probably expect better frame rates from hardcore Wii U games in the future.
