While many are just excited they got the chance to participate first-hand with the beta of such an epic title like Destiny , some are wondering what will become of their hard-earned progress thus far.
In a recent interview, Bungie community manager David Dague addressed whether or not beta save data will carry over into the actual game (suggesting it is uncertain at this time). “The beta is a test. It’s extremely unknown as to what the outcome will be. So, it’s certainly not a promise or an announcement that we’re making at this time. It all depends on what we learn and how things shake out. So, we’re certainly not telling players they can carry their progress over, but we haven’t made any announcements either way.” He says.
While betas have become common place in the industry, that doesn’t mean Bungie is taking this process for granted. Dague reveals that Bungie truly hopes to harvest valuable info from each and every step of the development process (via fan feedback), calling it there “… most ambitious project ever on…we certainly don’t want that to be the first time anybody gets hands on with this game. Every time someone plays a build of Destiny we learn something about what we create. We learn how it can be better. We learn how we can better support it behind the scenes.”
Destiny launches at the end of summer on September 9 th .
