Microsoft announced this afternoon, at their X10 event in San Francisco, that the Halo: Reach beta will get underway starting May 3, 2010. Consumers who pick up (or who have already picked up) a copy of Halo 3: ODST will get access to the beta. While we would think Bungie would try to limit access to the beta to those that purchased ODST, there may not be enough beta entrants to truly test the servers for load. As such, expect the beta to become public eventually, though access won’t be granted immediately.
