XBL User Accidentally Awarded Four Billion MS Points

XBL User Accidentally Awarded Four Billion MS Points

None

Why doesn’t anything like this ever happen to me?

According to a report by Loud Mouthed Gamers, a programming error has recently given several Xbox LIVE users more Microsoft points than they were supposed to receive. For most people, this meant a couple bucks here or there. However, one user received over 4 billion points. That’s a total of over $53 million U.S., an amount that could buy a staggering amount of avatar costumes and map pack DLC.

This particular glitch was actually caused by another glitch. The user in question originally received a small amount of extra points, just like everyone else. However, he very quickly spent those points on DLC and other content. So when Microsoft went to take those points away from him, his point total ended up negative, which should be impossible. As a result, he rolled over to a high number instead. Of course, this just means that Microsoft needs to take the points away from him again. Then again, if they take too many, he might end up owning their company.
