Xbox 360 System Update Brings USB Memory Support

None

A mandatory system software update is now available from Microsoft for your Xbox 360.

This update brings with it the ability to use external USB memory drives with your Xbox 360 to augment the amount of useable space you have for your gaming, movies, and music.

According to Major Nelson, most memory drives will work “or you can purchase one of the official SanDisk 8 [$34.99] or 16 GB [$69.99] flash drives that are pre-configured and also come with a free month of LIVE.”

By pre-configured, Major Nelson is referring to the 512 MB partition Microsoft will make on any USB memory device you use, so make sure you have enough room on your pen drive.
