Xbox One February System Update Delayed Until Later This Week

Xbox One February System Update Delayed Until Later This Week

Earlier Today, Major Nelson confirmed via Twitter that the highly publicized February system update won’t be launching until sometime later this week. This update was originally scheduled to be available to every Xbox One owner today.

The Xbox One February system update is expected to address several key concerns that customers have had in regards to the inclusion of a controller battery life indicator, full support for usb keyboards, and allowing people to manage their system storage space more efficiently. Corporate VP of Xbox Marc Whitten added today that a few other surprises would appear in the update, but wouldn’t elaborate further on what they are.

While hearing this news is promising, I’m still puzzled as to why Microsoft would launch their highly anticipated next-gen console without most of these features already included. One can easily argue that they rushed to retail with this system and didn’t really pay attention to strategies that have worked well for them in the past. Of course, they still have time to redeem themselves and hopefully they can do just that as the year goes on.

Are any of you looking forward to accessing these features once they finally become available in the update? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
