XCOM 2 Loves the Steam Controller

XCOM 2 Loves the Steam Controller

With many Steam games, the new Steam Controller isn’t natively supported. It’ll work with the game, but the developers didn’t specifically create control schemes with it in mind. Not so with XCOM 2 . Firaxis Games included native support for Valve’s peripheral, so people can plug, play, and not need to worry about creating a custom control scheme.

As an example of how XCOM 2 works with the Steam Controller, Valve mentioned that you can choose between control schemes for different tactical situations. There’s 1:1 camera controls using the touchpads, so you can always see exactly what you want or need to. The touch menus also allow for easier ability selection. These are only the first few examples, and more are yet to come.

To really drive the point home that XCOM 2 and the Steam Controller are BFFs, there’s a bundle deal. XCOM 2 alone is $59.99 on Steam, and a Steam Controller is $49.99. Buy them bundled together, and it’s $89.98 for the duo.
