ZeniMax/Bethesda Contemplating Publishing Bungie's Next?

None

Recently it was announced that Bungie Studios, development house responsible for the Halo franchise, is moving away from Halo and courting suitors for its next original IP.

According to Ashley Cheng, Production Director at Bethesda Game Studios, as posted on his personal blog, it seems like the Maryland-based gaming giant through its parent ZeniMax are on the short list of possible publishers.

Cheng posted, “You can count on one hand the number of publisher’s around who can afford to publish Bungie’s next game: EA (via EA Partners), Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft, and of course, Bethesda. I can only imagine how much it will cost to snag their next title.”

He continued by saying, “There is one more publisher who could get into the game: Sony. That would be interesting. Unlikely.”

That certainly is unlikely, as Bungie and its potential publisher will probably want to make their next IP multiplatform.
