Kathleen Henkel is a 68-year-old grandmother who, we hope, really enjoys PopCap Games’ Solitaire Blitz. After all, she’s going to be playing it for 30 hours, starting on Tuesday, June 26 at 9 AM EST. She and fellow gamer Laura Rich will, with the support of PopCap Games, attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “longest video game marathon playing a card game.” In the process of doing so, they hope to raise money for Charity: Water, which is a non-profit that brings clean drinking water to developing countries.
A marathon of this length would be a challenge for most anyone, but Henkel seems optimistic: “I’m really determined to reach the goal of 30 consecutive hours,” she said, “I’ll be ordering lots of coffee!” By Shelby Reiches |
