Remember how the Wii was so scarce when it was going for 200% MSRP on eBay? Remember how your buddy told you he was going to make some money reselling 3DS units because there was sure to be a shortage? Well, times have changed, and apparently Nintendo plastic is not being sold at the premium price it once was. The three biggest physical retailers of 3DS hardware – GameStop, Best Buy, and Toys R Us – are all reporting plenty of leftover stock of 3DS units.


GameStop in particular seems to have a lot of extra stock of 3DS units and is extending the usual 24-hour reserve pickup period indefinitely. Though this is good news for those who couldn’t make the Sunday launch, is this bad news for Nintendo’s sales numbers?
