Yesterday, the PC re-release of Final Fantasy VII was briefly live on Square Enix’s online store . In that time, trigger-happy individuals managed to purchase the approximately $12 title, but found themselves incapable of playing it. Apparently the activation servers, necessary for the otherwise stagnant data on one’s hard drive to assume an active stance, were not yet live. Today, Square Enix has responded to the snafu in top form, not only promising a copy of the game to all those who purchased it “early,” upon its release, but also issuing a refund to those affected. That’s right: those who bought FFVII before they officially could will be receiving the game free of charge. 
There is, as of yet, no official release date for it, but it looks like it should be soon. By Shelby Reiches |
