A Legendary New Look For Mega Man

A Legendary New Look For Mega Man

None

When Capcom was designing the new look for Mega Man in the upcoming 3DS title, Mega Man Legends 3, they found themselves inundated with options. Rather than drawing straws, flipping a coin or having an internal brawl to decide which look the game’s eponymous hero would sport, Capcom decided to try something different. They asked the fans. Furthermore, they asked the fans in both Japan and overseas, displaying the data afterward as individual looks were eliminated until only two, designs “D” and “E,” remained.

As of today, one of those designs has been chosen.

Mega Man will be sporting design “D,” its most major visual distinction from “E” being a waistband/groin protector and a more uniformly rectangular backpack. While two-thirds of Japanese voters preferred this look, the numbers were a bit closer overseas, where only 57% called for look “D” over its alternative, a difference in opinion of almost 10%.

Mega Man Legends 3 will be available on the Nintendo 3DS this year, with a demo preceding it in the form of “Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version.” We’ll keep an eye out for the demo on the 3DS eShop.
