Amazon’s New Vita Bundle

Amazon’s New Vita Bundle

None

So, you want a Vita, but can’t decide which one to get, eh? Amazon’s trying to make that decision easier for you; in addition to the First Edition Bundle, which hits a week ahead of the regular launch, costs $50 more and includes Little Deviants, a 4GB memory card and a case, Amazon has unveiled a few bonuses it’s packing in with its standard 3G Vita system.

At no additional cost, buyers will receive an 8GB memory card, a 250MB AT&T DataConnect Pass good for one “session,” and a free PSN game available to you 30 days after your DataConnect Pass activation.

Amazon claims this is a $55 value, and the 8GB memory card alone makes this attractive, but there’s no word on what this free PSN game is, whether it’s a voucher for anything on the store or for one specific title. Further, this move reads as a bit desperate, with the 3G Vita’s sales lagging behind those of its Wi-Fi counterpart in the land of the rising sun and the U.S. data plans somewhat expensive, even after some amending. It doesn’t help that the 3G connectivity lacks a clear benefit for a dedicated game system, which will typically be pulled out for multiplayer where there’s already Wi-Fi, and the downloads for which are sizable enough that 3G would be a little slow (not even getting into battery life concerns).
