Assassin’s Creed Story Will End Before The Apocalypse

Assassin’s Creed Story Will End Before The Apocalypse

None

December 21, 2012. That’s the date that some people are saying that the world is going to end. Well, Ubisoft is going to make sure that gamers everywhere can follow the epic Assassin’s Creed story to its conclusion before then. After all, it would suck to have a flying demonic skull rip out your internal organs while you’re still wondering what’s going to happen to Desmond Miles.

Why is December 21st important in the world of Assassin’s Creed? Well, according to the game’s lore, this is when the world will end. The developers find it a bit goofy to nail down a date for the in-game end of the universe and then release a game after that date passes in real life.

The tales of Ezio and Altair will actually all be wrapped up with Assassin’s Creed Revelations, but there still is a game (or two) left to go after that. After all, the story of Desmond, their modern day descendant, has still not yet been finished. This is the story that is set to end in December 2012.

That being said, Desmond’s story is only one facet of the Assassin’s Creed universe. According to Ubisoft, there are still more stories to tell, and the franchise won’t end even after Desmond’s supposed apocalypse. However, they did say that there will be longer gaps between Assassin’s Creed releases. This way they will have more development time, which will allow them to keep the quality of the franchise high.
