Beamdog Looking To Make Baldur’s Gate 3

None

Beamdog, the company behind the recently revealed Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2 Enhanced Editions , has some big plans for the Baldur’s Gate franchise. Now, Cameron Tofer of Beamdog claims that the final goal would be Baldur’s Gate 3, a totally new game that would resurrect the Baldur’s Gate franchise.

“We have a lot of things to put in place before such a project can be launched,” Tofer said. “So currently there is no such project but that’s the one we want to do. Our thoughts have been that Enhanced Edition for BG 1 and 2 just make sense before there’s any Baldur’s Gate 3.”

How will Beamdog get funding for such an ambitious project? For now, they are considering Kickstarter. After the amazing success of Double Fine’s adventure game on Kickstarter and the similar success that Wasteland 2 had, Tofer thinks that Kickstarter funding just makes sense for a project like this. When a publisher won’t touch you, the fans themselves are often more than happy to fund your project.
