Apparently, a Minnesota Best Buy was telling their customers that Diablo III would be released on February 1st, according to Joystiq. This information was causing Diablo fans to go wild over the game’s imminent release. Best Buy’s marketing for the game was a pretty elaborate setup, with a countdown clock to a midnight release and everything. However, this confused several fans. The last time Blizzard announced anything about a release date for Diablo III, all we were told was “early 2012.” Since Blizzard themselves didn’t announce this information, many fans were skeptical that February 1st was the real Diablo III release.
