Cheat Codes to Unlock All Items in The Sims 4

If you’re an avid player of The Sims 4, you might know the frustration of trying to build a home without all the necessary items to finish your masterpiece. There are numerous reasons that items are locked in The Sims 4. Some are linked to certain career paths for your sims, while the developer deliberately hid others to ensure players didn’t have access to them.

We’re here to help. Even without the use of the many Sims 4 mods out there, there are still ways you can use cheat codes to unlock every item the game has to offer. Don’t limit yourself unnecessarily – use these instead!

Unlock All Items in The Sims 4: Step-By-Step

This modern house is one of the many housing options in The Sims 4.

Before you use any cheats in The Sims 4, you must first ensure they’re actually enabled in-game. You can do this on any platform – PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. If you’re on PC, open up the console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C. If you’re playing on console, you can do the same by pressing all of your controller’s shoulder buttons at once (LB, RB, LT, RT on Xbox, L1, R1, L2, R2, on PlayStation). With this open, you need to type the code ‘testingcheats true.’ Once you’ve done this, you have completed the first step towards unlocking all items in The Sims 4.

Now, all there’s left to do is enter two more codes. These are:

  • bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement
  • bb.showliveeditobjects

The first of these codes unlocks all of the items that are restricted by your Sim’s career and life choices. This is probably the most frustrating, as it can force you to make decisions out of character for your Sim in order to get more build items. With these, all of the base game items will now be unlocked in The Sims 4.

Unlock Hidden Items in The Sims 4

If you’re looking for something a little more hidden away, then we’ve got one more code you can enter, too. Open up the console again, and enter:

  • bb.showhiddenobjects

This gives you access to items the developers used to spruce up the world during development, including trees and rocks. Now, you can use them in your own builds to make them look more natural. As they were originally intended to be hidden away, they can cause a few issues with terrain, so be careful while using these items. If you’re struggling to find these items, simply type ‘debug‘ into the search bar in Build Mode. This will bring up all of the items unlocked by the ‘bb.showhiddenobjects’ command.
