Counter-Strike fans might actually get the opportunity to see Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in action this week. CS 1.6 players who are competing in The Intel Extreme Masters worldwide pro gaming league will be the first to go head-to-head in a public setting. The event is being held during New York’s Comic Con. Two teams will be chosen from the pool of Counter-Strike league players to compete in the first ever Counter-Strike: Global Offensive showmatches. “We cannot be excited enough to come back to New York after the reception we had last year,” said Michal Blicharz, Turtle Entertainment’s director of professional gaming. “This time it will be bigger and better, especially with a major League of Legends event happening and the first ever intercontinental match for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive—quite possibly the most interesting Intel Extreme Masters event we’ve had in the U.S.”
Valve still hasn’t released any info about CS:GO’s release except to say that it will be some time in early 2012. By Josh Engen |
