Dead Island has had a spotty history since its release. While the concept garnered tremendous anticipation from would-be zombie-slayers everywhere, the retail product had some technical issues that could have benefited from a little more time in the dev room. Add to that the delayed Bloodbath DLC and, well, “rocky” would be a generous description for the game’s start. But all is not lost. A patch is coming to consoles within the next day, which features substantial improvements. This isn’t just a matter of fixes and adjustments, though. Oh, it does those, too, but there are also some major gameplay additions. For example: the level cap has been boosted to 60, there are new blueprints for weapon mods, and enemy levels can now be adjusted independently for each character in co-op. ![]()
