Dead Island Patched With New Life

Dead Island Patched With New Life

None

Dead Island has had a spotty history since its release. While the concept garnered tremendous anticipation from would-be zombie-slayers everywhere, the retail product had some technical issues that could have benefited from a little more time in the dev room. Add to that the delayed Bloodbath DLC and, well, “rocky” would be a generous description for the game’s start.

But all is not lost. A patch is coming to consoles within the next day, which features substantial improvements. This isn’t just a matter of fixes and adjustments, though. Oh, it does those, too, but there are also some major gameplay additions. For example: the level cap has been boosted to 60, there are new blueprints for weapon mods, and enemy levels can now be adjusted independently for each character in co-op.

I’m not entirely sure how they’re managing that last one, but that seems like quite an impressive achievement. The full patch notes can be found on the game’s website. They will go live first on the PlayStation 3, at midnight GMT 1, and twelve hours later on the Xbox 360.
