Double XP Weekends Are For Babies, Not Gears

In the weekends leading up to Gears of War 3’s release, Epic is taking some time to give back to its devoted fan base, and offer those who maybe fell behind in the Gears of War 2 multiplayer race to catch up and unlock some bonus Gears 3 goodies. Last weekend saw a 15x XP bonus for games played, but this weekend that has been ratcheted up to a 20x multiplier. Looking to get those Golden Weapon Skins in Gears 3? Time for a bum rush to level 100. You’ll also need to win a match on each of the maps from the Snowblind pack, but by level 100 that should be child’s play, right?



Furthermore, Joe Graf of Epic Games has revealed, on his Twitter, that this weekend also plays host to what he called “Boomer Blast.” To quote from the man himself, “Boomers, Boomers, Boomers everywhere!” It’s time to dust off your copy of Gears 2 (or go purchase the triple pack if you don’t have it already—seriously, it’s like $20 some places) and blow stuff up!
