Unveiled during Sony’s E3 press conference, DUST 514 is the console expansion to the EVE Online universe that CCP has hinted at over the last few weeks. The title, a first person shooter set unflinchingly planet-side, will be a persistent experience that not only shares a universe with CCP’s long-lived MMORPG, but also splits server space with it.  DUST 514 will connect to its big brother MMO. It will connect to Sony’s next-generation handheld, the Vita, and it will support both Playstation Move and Playstation home. How this connectivity will factor into the title has yet to be explained, but excited fans will be able to find out during the closed beta at the end of this year. As for the rest of us? We’ll just have to wait until the game comes out in the spring of 2012. |
