Dying Light 2 DLC: How It Changes the Post-Apocalyptic Playground

Dying Light 2 brings players into a post-apocalyptical world of danger and adventure. The game was released on Feb. 4, 2022 and thrust players back into a zombie-infested urban nightmare. This game continues to captivate gamers with its unique blend of open-world exploration, parkour-based movement, and intense first-person combat. And even with the delays, the developers have done a great job of releasing DLCs for the game.

As for the gameplay, Techland describes it perfectly.

“Humanity is fighting a losing battle against the virus. Experience a post-apocalyptic open world overrun by hordes of zombies, where your parkour and combat skills are key to survival. Traverse the City freely during the day, but watch the monsters take over during the night.”

Dying Light 2 perfectly blends first-person action with engaging and dynamic multiplayer. Players can team up or play interesting versus modes. The game’s world is described as a decaying urban landscape where society has collapsed due to the outbreak of the same virus from the original game, turning people into aggressive and mutated creatures. In this bleak and dangerous world, players will assume the role of Aiden Caldwell, a skilled and agile survivor with unique parkour abilities. One of the central themes of Dying Light 2 is the concept of choices and consequences. Players will have the power to make crucial decisions throughout the game that will significantly impact the world and its narrative. These choices can affect the fate of various factions and individuals, leading to different outcomes and story branches.

The game also has a unique time system. The game retains the day-night cycle from the original, with nights becoming more dangerous as assertive and aggressive infected creatures emerge. Survival becomes even more challenging after dark, creating tension and requiring careful planning.

Dying Light 2 DLC

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Bloody Ties

The Bloody Ties DLC has four main pieces of content: a new location, a new story, new enemies, and new weapons. The most significant addition was the new bloodsport. The new game mode introduced a brand new mechanic and did a perfect job of blending zombie NPCs and multiplayer.

New Location

“At last, you reach the epicenter of death, wealth, and splendor. Roam its grand halls, dominate the ranks, and step into an arena where the greatest warriors put on the most adrenaline-fueled, blood-soaked shows of all time. Enter the trials and compete for glory!”

New Story

“Set out for a new adventure, where Aiden enters a bloodsport tournament. Make tough choices as the plot for power and revenge reaches its tipping point. The fate of many is in your hands.”

New Enemies

“The titans of combat are the least of your worries. Keep watch of brand new mutated enemies like the Gorilla Demolisher, Cataclysm, Inferno, and other freaks of nature. Stay alive or become yet another cautionary tale.”

New Weapons

“Introducing the one and only! Tap into the power barricade that is the Carnage Manica and take hold of new weapons to make creative combat that much more creative.”

Dying Light 2 DLC: Expansion Packs

As with most games, the game has a massive amount of content. And it works well. Whether you’re looking for new clothes or weapons, each pack brings something to the forefront. The packs are pretty diverse in style and were released at a decent rate. The first pack was released only a week after the game went live. The first two packs had multiple parts, allowing for triple the content.
