E3 2016: Mass Effect Andromeda Details Emerge

E3 2016: Mass Effect Andromeda Details Emerge

We’ve been able to piece together a few more details concerning Mass Effect: Andromeda following EA’s Play Conference. While we got a nice behind-the-scenes look at Andromeda during the show, we weren’t really given any details about the characters, the worlds, or the gameplay. We saw the female protagonist awaken from a long, deep sleep after arriving in the Andromeda galaxy. There, we are the aliens, and it’s up to our hero to find a new home for humanity. But who is this brave sleepyhead, and when will we get to explore Andromeda?

Thanks to a post-show EA livestream, we now know that the main character will go by the name “Ryder,” which is likely a last name, like Shepard. The female version of the character (likely the lady you saw waking up at the end of the behind-the-scenes trailer) will be your default hero. Of course, there will be plenty of customization options, including a male Ryder, if that’s your thing. While we still don’t have a solid release date, we know that Mass Effect: Andormeda will be coming out Spring 2017.
