Facebook Employees Making Super Mario Maker Levels

Facebook Employees Making Super Mario Maker Levels

Here’s a pairing you probably didn’t expect. Nintendo and Facebook are up to something, but don’t worry. It isn’t some free-to-play, browser-based game. It’s a Super Mario Maker Hackathon event.

A Hackathon is a normal thing for Facebook employees, and between July 28-29, Nintendo will have Super Mario Maker at its headquarters for employees to make some levels. Not the full game, mind you, but the same demo that has been at E3 2015 and other events.

Once the event is finished, Nintendo will judge the Super Mario Maker levels the people from Facebook made. The winner will be allowed to have their level in the game after it launches on September 11.

Even if he or she decides not to publish it, we’ll see how it turned out. Nintendo is going to record the event, so everyone can see the Super Mario Maker hackathon online.
