Fez Patch Delayed

Fez Patch Delayed

None

Fez was a pretty amazing game with pretty amazing bugs. In fact, some of the bugs in this outstanding 3D XBLA puzzle platformer were so bad that some people couldn’t play it at all. This is particularly ironic considering bugs are actually a main theme of the game.

The Fez team has been working on a patch to fix these issues for some time now. However, while the patch was submitted on May 17th, it was rejected due to a couple of critical issues.

Creator Renaud Bedard was able to reproduce one of the issues and has since sent yet another patch back to Microsoft. If this patch clears Microsoft testing, then the patch should become available in about two weeks, after all the Microsoft bureaucracy is sifted through. If the patch doesn’t make it through, well, it’s back to the drawing board, I suppose.

Bedard has included a sincere apology on the Polytron blog to all the gamers that are waiting for the patch. “Many apologies for the delays,” he says “it was a tricky one.”

Fez has sold over 100,000 copies since it launched in April. There’s no telling how many people of that 100,000 are suffering from these game-breaking bugs.
