Last month, the team behind indie game hit Fez released a patch that was supposed to fix numerous errors with their game and allow several gamers who weren’t able to play the game at all to finally get past a freeze that happened only a few seconds in. However, once that patch went live, a couple users reported that it was corrupting their save files. As a result, the patch was taken down. While the Polytron team wanted to create a new patch without this issue, they would need to spend “tens of thousands of dollars to re-certify the game.” Polytron, being a small indie studio, obviously does not have this money to spend.
To the less-than-1% who are getting screwed, we sincerely apologize. We know this hurts you the most, because you’re the ones who put the most times into the game. And this breaks our hearts. We hope you dont think back on your time spent in FEZ as a total waste. By Angelo M. D’Argenio |
