Ardyn, the primary antagonist of Final Fantasy XV , appears to be the next target for additional story content in the game. Well, presumably after all the character DLC. In an interview at Let’s Play 2017, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata said as much. He stated that Square Enix has plans to further explore the backstory of the mysterious villain. Tabata also teased the upcoming multiplayer feature, as well as giving the public more insight into the fascinating development of this troubled game.
I’m not sure if Ardyn really needs more backstory. He’s definitely one of the highlights of Final Fantasy XV , providing a lot of extra oomph in the latter half of the game. If anything, I feel backstory in general is not an issue with Final Fantasy XV. Perhaps the way the finer details in the thirteenth chapter were delivered was a bit clumsy.
All I know is, I’m not touching Final Fantasy XV again until Square Enix puts a fork in the darn thing.
