Final Fantasy XV’s Road Trip Delayed

Final Fantasy XV’s Road Trip Delayed

Square Enix made a big deal about Final Fantasy XV’ s release date announcement. There was a huge event in Los Angeles. It was even given a worldwide release date, so everyone could begin playing on September 30. Given it’s been in development for about 10 years, it seemed like enough was enough and we should just get it already. Except now we’re faced with a delay. Final Fantasy XV has been pushed back to November 29.

This comes after both Gamnesia and Gematsu heard from sources saying Final Fantasy XV won’t be available in September. The new rumored release date, according to both them and just-received GameStop promotional materials, was November 29. This morning, Square Enix revealed the rumor was correct.

You have to wonder what this means for the game. Square Enix says that Final Fantasy XV was delayed for additional polishing and quality assurance testing. This means that, instead of a day one patch being released alongside the game, the game will arrive with the patch already applied. While disappointing, these sorts of things do happen. Maybe the final product will be better?
