Gears of War 3 has sold more than three million copies in its first week. This is more than Modern Warfare 2 managed to, and that was one of the bestselling shooters of all time. This hands-down beats out every other game genre out there. Street Fighter IV was happy to get this many sales over the game’s entire lifetime This recent sales mark makes Gears of War 3 the new top-grossing game of 2011, which is huge considering the game was an Xbox 360 exclusive. We’ll just have to wait and see if other big name titles like Modern Warfare 3 can take the title back as the year goes on.
