Green Man Gaming may be Selling Grey Market Games Again

Green Man Gaming may be Selling Grey Market Games Again

Back in May, Green Man Gaming was accused of selling grey market keys for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . GMG said they were legitimate. Now, it’s facing similar allegations again from Ubisoft and Activision concerning Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed games. Green Man Gaming, however, is claiming its keys are legitimate and not acquired from grey market, unreliable sources.

Specifically, Green Man Gaming’s chief executive, Paul Sulyok, issued a statement that discussed the nature of its keys. One of the most important messages conveyed to GameSpot was, “There is a difference between being an authorised retailer for some titles, and being a retailer selling keys that have been sourced responsibly through authorised third parties with revenue going back to the publisher.” Sulyok also said the company would not reveal its sources for games and would address issues customers have had with getting keys that weren’t for the right region or offering the right items.

That Sulyok wouldn’t name Green Man Gaming’s sources seems a little shady. Especially since Reddit users had been reporting problems with Call of Duty keys. Until these affairs are definitively settled, maybe wait for deals from the upcoming Steam Winter Sale?
