So, the launch trailer has been unveiled, the rumors of Tommy Vercetti making his move out to Los Santos have been spreading, and the hype train has officially started rolling. People have picked apart the trailer, analyzing things from the license plates to the voices to the random businesses that appear around the city. But perhaps the best news of all? Rockstar North is all-hands-on-deck with development of Grand Theft Auto V. From the trailer, we’ve already seen that the fifth official installment in the series will be based in Los Santos, a seemingly fictional pictorial of Southern California that includes lush forestry, beaches, and, of course, the gratuitous violence and controversial content that fans of the series have grown to love. Rockstar North appears to be working hard to deliver a sandbox-style open world that players can immerse themselves within—the largest Rockstar has ever created. And of course, a story that encapsulates the essence of what Grand Theft Auto has meant to gamers since Grand Theft Auto III revolutionized gaming 10 years ago. ![]()
