There should be no doubt in your mind regarding Grand Theft Auto V’ s popularity. This is a major game that, coming up on its third year, is still a top seller. The latest figure proves it. Rockstar Games has confirmed 65 million copies of the game have been shipped since its September 17, 2013 launch date.
To give an idea of how well GTA V is still doing, think about the last updates Rockstar Games gave us. It had sold 54 million copies as of August 2014. This past February, that number was 60 million copies. So, in three months, this soon to be three-year-old game sold an additional 5 million copies. That’s huge.
It has to, in part, be due to the longevity of Grand Theft Auto Online , the online multiplayer mode that comes free with GTA V . Events are constantly being held and new features, cars, accessories, weapons and modes added. This is the game that keeps on giving, and it’s good to see it’s getting the love it deserves.
