Hard Reset’s Sudden Reveal

Hard Reset’s Sudden Reveal

None

Before yesterday, you probably hadn’t heard of Hard Reset. Or perhaps you’d seen a single screenshot released by Flying Wild Hog, teasing a futuristic cityscape of grunge, suspended monitors, and bright neon, like a scene pulled from Blade Runner.

Now, that screenshot has some context. The Polish developer has announced their first game, Hard Reset, will be a first-person shooter set in a dystopian future wherein mankind nears extinction. One man, Major Fletcher, is caught in the crossfire between two of mankind’s greatest enemies and, soon, will discover that nothing is as it seems.

It could be the pitch for any post-Matrix science fiction extravaganza, but Flying Wild Hog’s unique make-up ensures that they’ll shake up expectations, or at least make things entertaining. Composed of former employees from People Can Fly and CD Projekt Red, the team has experience on such titles as Bulletstorm, Painkiller and The Witcher 2. Will we see an engaging and morally complex tale wound into an action-packed, over-the-top first person shooter?

One can certainly dream.
