Interviews from the Set of X-Men: Days of Futures Past

In what almost seems like they were black bagged and thrown into the back of an SUV, the folks at SuperHeroHype were recently granted a visit to the set of Days of Futures Past (which is being run much like a military compound).

The article called the atmosphere on set one of “tension,” due to the possibility that too much could leak out regarding the film’s plot. One take featuring both a younger Magneto and Xavier locked in a heated argument resulted in actor James McAvoy being thrown around a bit. When later asked about the scene, McAboy said, “I try to fall on the soft things. I think our third take, I cracked my knee quite badly. But that was just my own fault. The plane wasn’t even throwing me around. I just tripped over a camera. I’m going to be limping for a week….The first time they did it, they said, ‘Do you want to rehearse?’ I said, ‘No, let’s just do it and see where it throws me.”

Catching up with actor Nicholas Hoult (who plays Beast), he reveals what it was like to finally get to share screen time with series favorite Hugh Jackman. “I remember the first day of shooting with him, I remember walking along and looking across at him and being like, ‘That’s Wolverine’….That’s the strangest thing, doing a scene and then going to have a pee and he pulls up at your arm and you’re like, ‘Wolverine, cool.’ So that was a big thing for me just because it suddenly felt very real, like a proper X-Men movie in a way.”

See X-Men: Days of Futures Past in theaters on May 23 rd .
