Well, here’s one we didn’t see coming. iOS best-seller Infinity Blade actually began its development cycle as a game for the Kinect peripheral! However, due to unspecified issues with the game and the peripheral, developer Chair had to scrap the project and port it to the iOS platform.

Chair’s co-founder David Mustard was recently quoted in an interview as saying, “That discussion happened, you know, a year and a half ago. We had this really cool design, and it’s not that dissimilar from the game you’re playing today; it’s just been refined and adapted to the iOS screen, which honestly I think is where the design works the best.”


So is there a future for Kinect games to be ported to Apple’s handheld platform? The prospect does sound a little weird, but it could be a good way to maximize profits for developers who don’t want to be limited to the Kinect platform.
