Joker Confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 at Launch

Mortal Kombat 11 is going to give Injustice 2 the justice it deserves. The latest cross-over character revealed for the new game is Joker. DC Comics represent!

Joker was first teased by Ed Boon, as is par for the course with some Mortal Kombat 11 characters. People noticed that Boon had uploaded a new profile picture of himself sporting the trademark Joker grin. Then, he issued a single tweet that said, Wait till they get a load of me!” The quote was removed within a few hours and his avatar image returned to a picture showing Scorpion and Batman.

The Mortal Kombat 11 version of Joker is not exactly the one that has appeared in the Injustice series. Rather, it is an Earthrealm-exclusive version of the villain designed specifically for this installment. However, the customization feature present in Mortal Kombat 11 will allow him to adopt the looks used in the Injustice series. In addition, certain styles inspired by the comics and movies will also appear.

In particular, the Jared Leto Suicide Squad look has been confirmed as one of the options people will be able to choose from. When asked why this particular style will be there, a Netherrealm representative said, “Well, the thing is, we felt bad for him. I mean, it looks like the Suicide Squad version of the Joker isn’t even going to get a movie now! Those tattoos were expensive!”

In Mortal Kombat 11, people will have to unlock Joker to use him. However, there is a treat for people who have played Injustice 2 . The game will detect whether or not someone has a save file from it on their system. If someone does, then Joker will immediately be available to use in the game. It is unknown how this will work on the Nintendo Switch, which never received Injustice 2 .

Think you’ll want to play as the Joker when Mortal Kombat 11 appears on April 23, 2019 for the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC?
