Just Cause 3 Has Been Revealed

Rumors of there being a third Just Cause game being in the works started circulating at least a month back after in-game screenshots were allegedly leaked online. As it turns out, the rumor has been revealed to be true, as the series’ developer, Avalanche Studios, is indeed working on Just Cause 3 , more than four years since Just Cause 2 was released.

Announced for the December issues of Game Informer, Just Cause 3 will be releasing in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Set in a fictional, open-world Mediterranean archipelago, it’s believed that the game will feature “ several hours ” of gameplay, as implied from the magazine’s hands-on experience with the Just Cause 2 sequel.

Not only that, but Just Cause 3 is also touted to feature vastly improved parachute and grapple mechanics, and even an all-new wingsuit. A press release has also detailed that Square Enix will be the game’s publisher.

We’ve been waiting for this moment ever since Just Cause 2 was released, ” said Avalanche Studios founder and chief creative officer, Christofer Sundberg, in said press release.

This is the culmination of a decade’s worth of open-world evolution and innovation. In Just Cause 3 , we’ve sent Rico to a beautiful Mediterranean archipelago. He is of course bringing his Grapple and Parachute, both with game-changing upgrades, as well as the brand new Wingsuit.

Just Cause 3 truly represents the next generation of chaotic sandbox fun, and we can’t wait to show you more next year.

The previous rumors regarding the game proposed that the game would be free-to-play, as allegedly suggested in the leaked screenshots, which contained indications of a micro-transaction system. However, Sundberg later quenched the rumors via Twitter , suggesting that Just Cause 3 won’t be a free-to-play game.

Thank you everyone for your patience. Enjoy the silence for a couple of days now. You have nothing to worry about. Promise. 🙂

We currently have ONE F2P game and it’s been out since 2009. I hope that helps you guys getting some sleep. Doesn’t change my opinion though
