No Online Multiplayer for Just Cause 3

No Online Multiplayer for Just Cause 3

Sorry frag-heads! If you were looking to rack up some headshots in the upcoming Just Cause 3 , you’ll unfortunately have to find your fix elsewhere.

Christofer Sundberg (who is co-founder of Avalanche) recently spoke with Game Informer regarding the upcoming release of Just Cause 3 . He revealed that, when the time comes, you have to ultimately make the hard decisions on exactly where to focus your resources. As a result, the sequel will ship sans online multiplayer. “…at some point you have to make a choice on where your focus is. Our strength is the sandbox experience, and we want to deliver a great Just Cause 3 experience.” He says.

That’s not to say this door is forever closed. Sundberg teases a mode could eventually be tacked-on in a future update, also acknowledging the strides the mod community has made in the past regarding multiplayer and Just Cause 2 . “The mod is absolutely fantastic. We owe those guys a lot. They have actually supported the game and helped it stay alive so many years after it was released. We don’t expect the fans to make the multiplayer for Just Cause 3 …maybe sometime down the line, we’ll take Rico into the modern world of multiplaying.” Touts Sundberg.

No official release date yet, but Just Cause 3 is expected to hit store shelves sometime in 2015.
