Kid Icarus Unveils 3v3 Multiplayer; AR Cards

None

Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS has been demoed at a number of trade shows since last year’s E3, but it appears that this sneaky little angel has been keeping some secrets from us all along. While most of the footage seen of the game thus far has been of flying and shooting single-player gameplay, Nintendo’s E3 press conference revealed several other sides to the game. Kid Icarus was shown participating in on-the-ground melee combat as well as in conversation with other characters, including a tough-looking swordsman. He was also shown with a wide variety of both melee and ranged weapons, from his trademark bow and sword to a bazooka, a giant hammer, and a set of claw weapons.

Even more interesting was the announcement of a three versus three multiplayer mode for the game, although there was no official word during the conference on whether multiplayer would be available online or only locally. It will, however, make use of augmented reality cards. Kid Icarus Uprising will be released later this year.
