L.A. Noire Developers Under Investigation

L.A. Noire Developers Under Investigation

None

Team Bondi, the guys behind L.A. Noire, are rumored to have absolutely horrible work conditions. Stories began emerging a while back about how the work hours with the team were absolutely unreasonable. Now, the International Game Developers Association is looking in to the studio to see if these reports are true.

Brian Robbins, chair of the IDGA said that “reports of 12-hour a day, lengthy crunch time, if true, are absolutely unacceptable and harmful to the individuals involved, the final product, and the industry as a whole. We encourage any Team Bondi employee and/or family member to email [email protected] with comments about the recent past and current situation – positive or negative.”

Brendan McNamara, head of Team Bondi, responded, “you just have to be prepared to do what you have to do” and insists that the long hours were needed to get the project done. In fact, he said that keeping long hours is one of the only ways you can compete against the world’s top game developers.

The list of accusations against Team Bondi includes: constant weekend work, crunch time work hours that exceed 110 a week, cutting team members to reduce costs and making one member do the job of four people, and much more.

We will keep you updated as more details on this story become available.
