Bloomberg is reporting that Seoul based LG Electronics, Inc. is seeking to block sales of Sony Bravia televisions and PlayStation 3 consoles. LG claims that both Sony’s televisions and its Blu-ray players infringe on several patents, according to the complaints filed with the International Trade Commission.  This is the latest development in a back and forth battle between Sony and LG. On December 28th, Sony brought patent infringement cases against LG. The ITC has the power to block sales of products that infringe on U.S. patents. Should LG succeed in its case against Sony, it would become impossible to buy a PlayStation 3 console in the U.S. Obviously, the implications of the suit are huge.
