Late last year, Sony brought allegations of patent infringement against LG before international courts. LG struck back with their own allegations, claiming that the PS3’s Blu-ray technology was infringing on LG patents.  Until recently, not much has happened as a result of this conflict. LG has won a preliminary injunction against Sony in Europe. As a result, PS3 consoles imported into Europe have been seized by customs officials. According to the injunction, these confiscations must continue for at least ten days. While this injunction is only temporary, it might become permanent, making PS3s in Europe very hard to find. |
