Massive Rumor: Call of Duty Patriots

Massive Rumor: Call of Duty Patriots

OK Call of Duty fans, this one is a doozy. So a site, called Bubble News, is claiming to have a bunch of information on the next Call of Duty game. Supposedly, the game is set during World War I and stars someone called Smith Black. The game will be called Call of Duty: Patriots and will be a next-gen only title.

Interesting news right? Well don’t get your hopes up. As Gamespot said, this news comes from a community-generated site that has no way to police its users. In short, any schlub on the internet could simply claim to know what the next Call of Duty title is going to be and post it to the site.

Simply put, none of this has been confirmed and it’s unlikely to be true, but even so media sites across the internet have picked up the rumor and run with it anyway. Our opinion? The idea seems pretty cool. An alternate reality World War 1 seems like it could be a very interesting setting. It certainly wouldn’t draw as much groans as the “Mexico tries to retake the United States” story of Call of Duty: Ghosts .

We will bring you more information on the ACTUAL next Call of Duty title as it becomes available. Until then, never believe everything you read on the internet.
