MechWarrior Devs Break Their Silence

MechWarrior Devs Break Their Silence

None

It’s hard to believe that it’s been over two years since Piranha Games released a stunning trailer for a new MechWarrior title before going into complete radio silence. The trailer, which may have been entirely pre-rendered, showed off excellent weapon effects, classic mech designs, (including the skull-faced, 100-ton Atlas) and crumbling buildings, all of which got fans’ blood pumping.

Now, here to put the kibosh on rumors of the title’s cancellation, Piranha Games has spoken, saying news regarding the title will be coming very soon.

The game, intended as a reboot of the MechWarrior franchise, is said to be set in 3015, placing players in the shoes of Adrian Khol, a rebellious nobleman who, over the course of the game, will doubtless learn to take some responsibility for his actions and the impact they have on the world around him. More exciting than story, though, is the promise of dynamic, destructible environments and new mechs, in addition to the classic models.

Titled simply “MechWarrior,” the game, as of yet, has no release date, but is in development for both the PC and the Xbox 360.
