Metro: Last Light Pushed Back To 2013

None

According to THQ’s most recent release schedule, Metro: Last Light, the upcoming sequel to Metro 2033, will be delayed until 2013. The game is now planned to come out during the fourth quarter of the financial year, which corresponds to a release window between January 1st and March 31st 2013. Originally the game was scheduled to come out later this year.

No reason for the delay has been given, but it’s possible that THQ is simply taking more time with the game in order to increase its quality and, more importantly, its mass market appeal. Metro 2033 was a well-received cult classic hit, but it in no way competed with the behemoths of video gaming like Call of Duty. However, this is exactly what THQ said they wanted to do with this upcoming sequel. Yes, this means they have their work cut out for them, but with this extra development time, might they put a dent in Call of Duty’s bullet-proof armor?
