Pikmin fans have had a long wait for the third game in the series, and it looks like they’ll be waiting a bit longer. A few years ago during Nintendo’s E3 Developer Roundtable, Shigeru Miyamoto announced that Pikmin 3 was in development for the Nintendo Wii. During this year’s Roundtable, however, he mentioned that once he saw the Wii U, he decided that he’d prefer to put Pikmin 3 onto the upcoming system instead.  The Wii U does seem like a natural fit for the Pikmin series, which could benefit from touch screen controls such as those found on the newly-unveiled Wii U controller. Fortunately, Miyamoto stated that the game was quite far into development on the Wii, so it will probably be a fairly early title for the Wii U. |
