Shigeru Miyamoto has news for people who enjoy real time strategy games with adorable, miniscule creatures. More Pikmin are on the way. To be more specific, Pikmin 4 has been in development and is incredibly far along at the moment.
Miyamoto offered the following quote to Eurogamer regarding Pikmin 4. ” It’s actually very close to completion. Pikmin teams are always working on the next one.” Though that second part of the quote makes you wonder. Pikmin came out in 2001, Pikmin 2 was released in 2004, and Pikmin 3 in 2013. It could very well be 2016 or 2017 before we see the next entry.
There’s no word on which console will be getting Pikmin 4. Pikmin 3 was a Wii U game, so the next title could be as well. There’s a lot of NX buzz, so maybe it will come to the newer console. Of course, we could all be surprised and see it turn out to be a 3DS game.
