This is a bit of random news for you today: A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trilogy is on the way. Before you get too excited, no, this isn’t special collection for your Xbox One, PS4, or PC. Instead the trilogy is getting released for Xbox 360 and PS3. This is according to a listing that just went up on Best Buy’s website. The bundle includes Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 with its Stimulus Package map pack, and Modern Warfare 3 .
This seems like a really strange move for Activision. Curent-gen gamers are only really begging for Modern Warfare remastered to get a standalone release. Before we had solid details about how it would be distributed, there were rumors of a Modern Warfare trilogy remaster coming to PS4 and XBO, so the fact that Activision decided to create this bundle for last-gen consoles is strange. It’s also redundant. Black Ops 3 had a stripped down, multiplayer-only version for last-gen consoles, and Infinite Warfare won’t show up on Xbox 360 or PS3 at all. True Call of Duty fans stuck on last-gen consoles already have these games, and now Activision is offering them back again in lieu of something new. Weird.
If this is something you’d be interested in, according to the listing the bundle will sell for $30, and will be available May 17. Here’s hoping they at least did some housecleaning on the multiplayer servers, because last time I tried to play Modern Warfare online on my 360, people were floating in the air, glitching in and out of textures, and sniping.
